"This was mis-sold. The room was dirty and shabby. The bathroom wasn’t clean with hair in the sink and toilet clearly given a cursory clean. I found hair on the sheets. A small fridge and freezer seemed to have been dumped in the room. The coffee machine was dirty (there wasn’t any tea/coffee in the room in any case). We knew there would be no air conditioning so that was not an issue but given the location by the main road and the flimsy windows it did not look or feel safe especially to leave our things in it and go out. The photos on Expedia looked nothing like the room we got. When asked I was told it was a ‘studio’ and so different photos on the site if I really looked into it. This is advertised as 3 star which would have been fine as it was just an overnight stop before the morning ferry. But this is barely 1 star. (In any case it’s not about the star rating as I’ve stated in basic but clean and safe 2 star hotels). We stayed for about 20 minutes and in the end decided to cut our losses (~£150 for the two rooms) and move to a better hotel at our cost. I asked about the possibility of some money back but was of course declined. Expedia needs to look at this place and it is described on the website. This experience also makes me reconsider using Expedia in the future."
