"My experience at Aquarius Vacation Club at Dorado del Mar was unacceptable from start to finish. When I arrived to check into my room, I found the door cracked open. I immediately went downstairs to notify the front desk because I was genuinely afraid to walk in. They sent a security guard to “check” the room and then told me it was fine to enter, but that was only the beginning of the problems.
Once inside, it was obvious the room was extremely old and poorly maintained. The bathroom had an old, dingy shower curtain, the tub was wet, and there were no basic toiletries—no soap, no shampoo, nothing. On top of that, there was no hot water. The floor was covered with random pieces of carpet, and it was filthy—dust, paper scraps, and debris everywhere, as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. The chairs were stained, and the wooden furniture was chipped and worn down.
To make matters worse, when Expedia tried to contact the hotel to help me get a refund, the staff refused to answer the phone. I had to physically go downstairs and stand there until they finally picked up the call. Even after all of this, I still have not received a refund.
For a hotel that markets itself as a vacation club, this was incredibly disappointing. The lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms, and unprofessional customer service made this stay far below acceptable standards. I would not recommend this property to anyone."
