"We travelled with a 10 year old. The hotel was more geared towards adults and not so much kid friendly. Having known this, we would have chosen the Grand Hyatt. The pool area at the SLS blared techno music all day and night- not very relaxing if you are looking to read a book at the pool. The staff was very nice. The room that we had was very small- rooms are way better at the Reef in Atlantis. We usually go to Atlantis and decided to try this area instead. The waterpark is much better with more to do than Atlantis. The outside areas are much cleaner, more modern, and better maintained than Atlantis. The restaurants are equal to Atlantis- great themes but feel franchised and not authentic to the intended concepts."

"Great last minute vacation. The resort is very nice, staff is very friendly and the food is great. We also tried many other restaurants on the island. The beach is very clean and the pool is great. Front desk is very helpful and contrary to some other reviews, we were never approached for buying any units. Construction of phase 2 tower nearby is very quiet."

"I had a great time, the staff that I came across were nice and helpful but not so many of them were. Like the ones at the front desk on Thursday/friday. She looked at me like I had five heads growing out of me when I asked if I could request for some clean towels to the room. But other than that had a nice time. My waitress I had at the wooden restaurant that was in the hotel building was super nice and fun ! I hope her spirit stays like that with everyone ! The king room I had was big. The only issue was I wish the shower was bigger, lol. I needed a steamy HOT shower cause at one point I couldn’t breathe and everything closed at 4:30pm. But i survived ! But yes everything was good ! Thanks for having us !"
The Royal at Atlantis

"I traveled with my good friend, my 12-year old granddaughter and her two friends ages 12 and 13. We had adjoining rooms in the Royal for 4 nights. The rooms were very nice, the staff very kind and helpful. The kids loved the slides and stayed on them most of the days there. The beach (forget the name .. the one opposite the Sun Pool over the lagoon bridge was very nice. The lagoon was the only area that needed attention- the edges had trash floating in leaves. The aquarium’s are great. My main complain is the food. In my opinion there is not enough offered for kids. The prices are so ridiculously high, worse I’ve ever seen anywhere. I’m from the Boston area where things are high… but nothing like this. A smaller than average box of chees-itz for example $13.60 before the 10% tax is for sale in the hotel shop. Water $7. There is a shake shack and a pizza place but even those … overpriced! I’d go again, but I would bring a suitcase with food…worth paying for an extra piece of luggage .. with snacks.. peanut butter, bread .. tuna, etc. there are fridges in the rooms… otherwise bring a suitcase full of money. You can go off the property… but in my case traveling with kids on a girls trip, I felt I should stay put. I would definitely go back, but not without snacks."
