"Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. "

Only negative was our room was an adjoining one, lack of sound proofing on adjoining door meant all noise/conversations between the 2 rooms was very audible. Would definately recommend this hotel but avoid an adjoining room if you can 🙂"

Just small things make the difference to an experience. Overall wonderful and so much history to absorb"
