“The Royal is a great hotel situated in the quaint village of Heysham.
We loved our stay. Lots of nice walks and history. The hotel has a very relaxed and chilled atmosphere.
The food is excellent and all staff are friendly and display excellent communication and customer service skills.
Everwhere is spotlessly clean. Free parking is an added bonus.
We will be returning soon and I will recommend the Royal to my friends and family.”
“Really good stay, staff are always really helpful, room clean and comfortable. Sometimes the wifi can drop but it's manageble with working. Rooms nearby were quiet noisy this time, I've stayed before and never heard anyone, all was quiet by midnight and a good nights sleep. Overall recommend, lovely location and great value, thank you team”
“We had a very warm welcome on arrival. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly and it was great we could eat with our dog in the bar. The family room was very clean and good size. Not a great view of the fire escape but it didn’t matter for one night. In a great location in the seafront and easy to park outside on the road for free. ”

“We stayed for one night, June 2025, I wish it had been longer! From start to finish, everything about our stay was lovely. Picturesque building in a beautiful setting. Plenty of room in the private car-park. The staff could not have been friendlier. We ate an evening meal in the pub and it was really lovely. “We checked in to this beautiful old inn, and were greeted by owner Johnathan, we were shown to our room and told if we needed anything just ask. Being the winter the kitchen is closed Monday and Tuesday which Johnathan apologised for, we replied it’s absoulutly fine. He told us of the local Chinese just up the road and said please feel free to bring it back to our room to eat, which we did.
