"I recently stayed at Hilton Boston Park Plaza, the historic former Park Plaza, and came away with mixed feelings—leaning strongly negative. On the positive side, the location is excellent—steps from the Boston Public Garden and Boston Common—and the rooms have clearly been renovated. The updates give the space a more modern feel, though small details are oddly lacking (for example, no glass cups in the bathroom). Unfortunately, the overall experience felt disingenuous. The hotel advertises a $15 daily credit for drinks or breakfast, which initially sounds like a perk. What they don’t clearly tell you is that the “continental” breakfast—plus a few basic hot items like eggs, sausage, and bacon—costs around $40. The credit barely makes a dent. More frustrating is the mandatory “Destination Charge” of $85. It’s framed as giving access to amenities like the gym and business center, but these are standard features at most hotels—and you can’t opt out. The result is a pricing structure that feels like bait-and-switch: a small visible credit masking much larger hidden costs. In the end, it felt like constant nickel-and-diming. For the price, there are better, more transparent options in Boston. I won’t be returning."

"Good location and bright room. The hotel is a bit dated. Staff was really nice, especially Ilda in the cleaning team. "

"They do not have room control temperature. The whole facility is on one system. It was freezing in my room. I needed 4 blankets. The window in my room was cracked. They had the air conditioner running and it was 50 degrees outside. I felt like I was living unhoused. Great location. Friendly staff. Clean room."

"I booked this hotel for the Boston Marathon and they had a nice simple breakfast at 5 AM for all of us. Although it was obviously overpriced for the weekend, they allowed me to come back to hotel (I already checked out) after the marathon to take a shower in one of their clean public bathrooms. Very clean and close to race!"
