“The inn was okay and the staff were nice. Couldn’t sleep though which is the point of a hotel. Had a road facing room and could hear every single car as it sped by. Torture. The shower was also maybe the worst I’ve had in the last 5 years of constant travel. Felt like someone held a pinched hose over me and there was no water pressure at off peak shower times. ”

“Definitely not a 4 star property. It was decent but not great. It is the only place I've ever stayed where the wifi signal doesn't even reach the 2nd floor - we couldn't use it at all. The floor squeaked and creaked with every step. I understand that it's an older building but it wasn't ideal.”

“We asked for a late check out and even though the hotel was absolutely empty - (we were the only two people at breakfast in a room that could seat 100) the hotel still denied a late checkout (personally I think 11am checkout is too early) so we were charged an extra £20 for a 12pm checkout. “We stay here regularly whilst visiting family. I love it because everyone is very friendly, the beds are super comfy and there is a bath in the bathroom. It's walking distance into town even after a few drinks in the very reasonably priced bar! It's dog friendly too. Big carpark and surprisingly quiet after the bar closes. Usually football on the TV in the bar which keeps my husband happy (depending on play...) 😅 The Highfield is always our first choice when planning to come to Boro.”
