I chose to stay at the Inn at Playa del Rey based on other reviews and on my need for 2 nights in LA, preferably close to LAX.
The Inn was a very pleasant experience. The staff were efficient, engaged and helpful without being fussy, and the décor comfortable and easy going in a sea-side cottagey, non ultra-modern, way. Eating breakfast or relaxing in the lounge you tended to gaze out over the wetlands that border the Inn from behind - who would have thought that staring at ducks and pelicans...

Really charming B&B in a lovely wood building with lots of character. Room was clean, comfortable and pretty and had a balcony sitting area. Well appointed bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Lovely wine and snacks in the afternoon and nice breakfast in the morning. Friendly and welcoming staff. Great amenities (bikes, beach towels, books, computer access, cookies in the room, beverages, etc. Location is very close to the beach and all the action in Santa Monica.

What a wonderful discovery! Everything about this stay was perfect, from fresh cookies and cold bottled water on arrival, to a large, clean comfy room, with soft, soft sheets, excellent air conditioning, great water pressure, and an absolutely delicious breakfast served with a warm smile. This is a beautiful, secluded property - seems like is remote, but is actually only a few minutes from the freeway, 10 minutes to Silver Lake or downtown, 15 minutes to Hollywood, 35 minutes from the ocean....
