9/10 Wonderful! (1,038 reviews)
We visited Garza Blanca in April and loved it so much that we returned in August and were seriously considering becoming members. Unfortunately, this visit completely changed our perspective. Before arrival, I arranged transportation through the resort but was mistakenly sent several payment communications intended for other guests. After getting the correct link, I asked for help with dinner reservations and received no response. Our suite included butler service, but we received no contact the first day. The bedroom AC was also not working. I reported it, received no update, and we slept in a hot room. The next morning we requested a move. Maintenance was in and out while we waited, and when our new room was ready, the bellhop could not access it. We waited in the hot hallway and then had to get our own keys reactivated. The new room also had hair left behind from a previous guest. The final straw was checkout. Our transportation was waiting, so I politely declined the membership presentation. The representative responded, “Oh sir, you don’t qualify anyways.” The condescending response was especially disappointing because we had genuinely considered membership. The bright spot was our server at the main buffet, who was fantastic and made us feel special. Between the service issues, limited family activities, and pools closing at 8 PM, we will likely look elsewhere. After April, we thought Garza Blanca was our resort. Sadly, this visit changed that.
