"We arrived at Villa Di Grassina in mid May. The weather was rainy and cool. We stopped at reception in time to see a crowd of happy people leaving from a weekend wedding held there. We asked where they were from and they told us Guam. We couldn’t believe they came from half way across the globe to hold a wedding there.
We were greeted inside by a lovely lady, a Brit who has worked there for over 30 years. We were helped to our room and personally given a tour. The room was old, as we expected, and very charming. The smell was reminiscent of my Grandmother’s house when I was a child. The wood on the stairs leading to the second floor bedroom even creaked in the same way. The night was silent and perfect for sleeping.
We were once again greeted at reception the next morning with big smiles, hot cappuccino and sweets given to us by the two wonderful ladies that work at the office. The day was spent exploring the beautiful grounds, looking at the amazing Tuscan views and visiting the nearby town of Pelago.
To summarize our visit, I would say the Villa Di Grassina is a must see if making a trip to Tuscany or as a final destination from anywhere. I would give it five stars and we hope to visit again."
