West Madison, Madison hotel rooms at the Independent

"We came here becauae the first hotel we checked into was gross and we weren't staying. The front desk staff was wonderful and kind. The room was so nice. Bathroom was spacious, beds were very comfortable, everything was nice and clean. Very glad we made the switch!"

"The first room we checked into had food in the freezer and the toilet wasn't working. The second room had a working toilet and was cleaner, but I don't know why I paid $20 more for a "king suite with separate seating area" as it was one room. It looked like the pictures on the website for the "studio king room." The pool was fun, but hadn't been cleaned overnight. There was foam from someone's pool toy all over the pool deck and in the pool. Finally we went to breakfast, and all of the empty tables were dirty. The food bins were empty, and the worker was just playing on her phone. She came out when I asked her if she could refill the trays, but she had to go and start heating the frozen food. We gave up and went out for breakfast. On a positive note, the room was quiet!"

"I have stayed at the Concourse in the past and loved it. Unfortunately, this time the room was not up to standard. It had a musty odor. It didn’t have all the usual amenities in the bathroom, and the windows were not triple glazed, so street noise was pronounced. "
