“Check in was difficult with a person who we had trouble understanding due to a very heavy accent and who appeared to have difficulty with our expedia reservation. She also refused to believe that I had a disability. The room had a definite musty smell and the carpet looked like it needed to be shampooed. The air conditioning worked but was noisy. “The Elk Inn is conveniently located in Elkin, a nice town with a few dining options. The motel is a two-story standard motel with convenient parking. I was there for a few nights. The bed was comfortable and the heater worked fine. But the motel is very long in the tooth. Feels old and a bit neglected. Electrical outlets are very inconvenient, and one was connected in line with a light switch. The TV system was inscrutable. The bathroom facility was ok, but the operator seemed to think that one...

“We stayed here to go to Merlefest in Wilkesboro. It is a straight shot there. Hotel was comfortable and clean. The exercise room could stand an upgrade.”

Breakfast of waffles, cereal, yogurt, bread and coffee seemed a little slight but more than enough for me. Excellent hotel for the price. Will definetly stay here again!”
