“We stayed in chalet #2 Bramble. There was a bit of a wait at reception at check in. We were told we were in lodge #2. We were given three keys which was helpful. When we got to the lodge the number was not as clear as the name so it would have been helpful to have been told the name at checkin. When we opened the door we were presented with another 8, Yes 8 doors! The rooms themselves were basic but fine. 2 bathrooms one was a stand alone shower room the other had a shower over bath and was a...

“Loved the hotel. Lovely room and fantastic staff. Great breakfast. Only negative is that parking can be pretty tricky (or at least it was on the Saturday night that I was there). ”

“Room and bed are cleaned well and morning breakfast is served also good. But ventilation is not good. Doesn't have any air conditioner so room is filled with hot air when checked in. Hotel is closed to road so that buzzing vehicles noise comes into window over night make me hard to sleep. Electric hot pot is served with stain inside so there's no way to make tea in the room.”

“Worst stay I have ever had. The first morning at breakfast the plates were so dirty it put us off eating. We literally went through the whole pile and could not find any clean ones. Didn't bother going to breakfast the 2nd morning. There was an odd smell on the first day when we walked into room but it was stifling hot so put the air conditioning on and left it at that. However the next evening when we returned to the room we walked in and there was a clear smell of drugs in the room which...

“Nice room, but needs a little TLC. Parking good, nice staff. Restaurant a let down. No staff available and very slow service, cold food and breakfast was very disorganised and lacking fresh coffee, orange juice and pastries! ”

“No shops and quite isolated. However, a great place to cycle to Exmouth and Dawlish area.”

“Unfortunately the hotel had some problems in the kitchen which impacted very badly on the menu for dinner, the breakfast, service (so slow) and noise. It would have been better to fix the problems before reopening or to have had the courtesy to let us know in advance what the situation was. I would have stayed somewhere else. Extremely disappointing as I’ve had lovely stays here in the past. ”

“The staff were very helpful and friendly and this made us feel welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely and clean and is on a convenient location being close to the train station and city centre.”
