“The view from our room was gorgeous and the enclosed balcony with heater was an unexpected bonus. The room was nice but thought the bathroom looked ‘tired’. “The room had a comfy bed and a lovely ensuite. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly. I would recommend staying here.”

“Room and bed are cleaned well and morning breakfast is served also good. But ventilation is not good. Doesn't have any air conditioner so room is filled with hot air when checked in. Hotel is closed to road so that buzzing vehicles noise comes into window over night make me hard to sleep. Electric hot pot is served with stain inside so there's no way to make tea in the room.”

Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! Hot water in bathroom basin very slow in coming through and the toilet seat is misaligned ”

“Well located for shops and both Exeter Main and St. Davids railway stations. My room was compact but well thought out and well equipped. It was great to have a light next to the bed which you could turn off/on easily and the shower was good. Breakfast was first class, beautifully served and coffee one of the best. I would have liked more savoury options for the breakfast but that is just a small preference. Host was really helpful and very welcoming. I would stay here again.”

“Almost great, but faded glory is a better summary. The "king size" bed was actually a 5' wide "queen", and of a bouncy trampoline design that dates back a few decades. The breakfast buffet lacked modern coffee selections -- just a decent large pre-brewed spout for it -- and had no chopped fruit etc. Adequate yes, great not. Parking was easy. The room required a mix of elevator and stairs to access, or just purely stairs. Lots of hard materials and doors that noisily slam, instead of the...

“No evening restaurant was a bit inconvenient The only real issue is there is only parking for about 7 cars which has to be prebooked and nothing tells you when booking on the site So we had to find on street parking some way away.”
