Outside grassy area had a lot of cigarette butts which was unpleasant. Also outside seating on grass a few more options would be good. Most of the seats were really low.

“A bit late here for a review, but stayed in late June. Friendly and accommodating to us who failed to read the hotel rules and had a couple of awkward moments with late arrivals and service needs! Really appreciated the homey, peaceful atmosphere. Beautiful authentic antique structure with just the right modern conveniences and Great access to our choice garden visits in the area. we would definitely stay again

“We enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel. Room and hotel were very clean and comfortable. We got there late at night and had to leave early in the morning, so didn't get to use any of their amenities, but breakfast was good (with good options) and room fridge was stocked with beer! Check in and check out were very smooth and quick. A bit on the expensive side. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay again (at a lower rate though!)”

“About 5 minutes walk from Rye old town, markets, shops and restaurants. Hotel, although a little jaded round the edges decoration wise, was lovely and clean and comfortable. Bedrooms were a good size, comfortable beds and pillows and bathrooms very clean. All public areas were clean and tidy. Staff were very pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. Good bar with an area outside with seating overlooking the river. And, breakfast was wonderful and many options. Would stay here again if down in Rye...

“Our room was Yew and Eye, one of the newly built cabins in the garden of this historic inn with a twist. The design is like nothing we’ve ever seen before with surprises every way you look. The room itself has human eyeballs as a decorative theme which was fascinating and amusing. The standard double bed was extremely comfortable, there was plenty of useful storage and good ventilation. “Very clean and cozy place but if you don’t have a car or a friend who could give you a ride it’s better to use a hotel in the central village. If you drive this is the hotel. Its swimming pool is very nice as well as its garden. ”
