"Very friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere"

"It was convenient walking distance to the college. Very welcoming employees and I received a text asking if we were in need of anything, even though I had put up a do not disturb sign, however, I did need extra towels and responded and they delivered accordingly. The building is old and charming. Can it use a facelift, especially the bathrooms, yes, but overall, it was a good stay and I’d stay there again. Excellent breakfast also and they held our baggage after checkout which was very convenient."

"My wife and I stayed at The Loutrel for our anniversary, and honestly, it's hard to find anything to complain about. This place just gets it right. From the minute we pulled up, the staff made us feel like we were welcome, not in that rehearsed, corporate hospitality kind of way, but genuinely warm. Special shoutout to Carl the valet, who was a standout from start to finish. He took great care of the car, but what really made an impression was that he greeted us by name every single time we came back in, and had some genuinely great recommendations for getting around Charleston. Little things like that stick with you. The room was spacious and well done, the kind of space where you walk in and just go "okay, yeah, this is it." Comfortable, beautiful, nothing to nitpick. The rooftop is worth your time. It's big, has a great vibe, and is the kind of spot where you sit down for one drink and end up staying a while. No complaints there. Location-wise, you really can't do better in Charleston. We were walking distance from great food, great bars, and some of the most beautiful streets in the South. We barely touched the car after Carl parked it. If you're heading to Charleston for an anniversary, a birthday, or really any special occasion, and especially if you're going as a couple, The Loutrel is the move. We'll be back."

"The room was clean, well laid out and a great amount of space. We found the hotel to be great overall, the only slight consideration is the restaurant on the first floor is quite busy, you really need to make reservations most of the time. Also be mindful that if you leave the hotel or need to go to the lobby it's often quite crowded as people wait for seating at the restaurant. We will definitely stay here again."

"The room i booked was not available, the pool was not available or hot tub,the spa was not available. The price i paid for the room and extras was not equal.....I will not book with again. Deception this was and I am not pleased. "
