“Great base for walking in Langdale, you go straight out of the back door and up to Stickle Tarn. Excellent breakfast with good choices, a good selection for the evening meal and the Old DG hotel 15 minutes walk away if you fancy a change. Nice lounge for the wet days. 100% recommend”

“The Duke of Edinburgh hotel was a gem. I don’t know the history of the building but it’s older; that doesn't mean bad. They have done a great job of renovating the rooms, or at least ours was. It was one of the best rooms we’ve had on our trip. We also had dinner and a breakfast while there and the food at the restaurant/pub was excellent. It’s a short walk from the train station and I would recommend it for your stay.”

“Fantastic location close to the centre, docks, town hall etc. Very clean, beautifully equipped to a high standard in terms of bathroom facilities & with tea, coffee (nespresso type machine) etc. Sofa converted to sofa bed in my apartment which was fantastic! Breakfast to go is plentiful & means you can eat as early as you like (as breakfast basket is left in the room the day before needed). I highly recommend this accommodation.
