“I got the impression that Yankee Inn has quite a history, although it has been recently updated and renovated. The staff were available and friendly. At times I felt I was on a 1950s movie set, imagining Bing Crosby singing in my head. I ultimately extended my stay because it's location was a hub for the many surrounding activities--it's slightly over an hour drive to Hartford, and I was happy to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and return to the beauty of the Berkshires. “Although the decor is outdated, this inn is lovely and clean. The Honeymoon Suite room was unique and spacious. The in-room breakfast was very nice, as was the private patio overlooking a shared yard with plenty of seating. Room and patio felt quite private. Good location in the Berkshires.”

“The host was on site when we arrived and greeted us graciously and efficiently. The room was clean and spacious, with a beautifully renovated bathroom (Room 5). The bed was a bit soft for our taste, but comfortable. There was no place to hang clothes, but there was plenty of drawer space in the bureau and bed stands. The reservation portal indicates the room has a hair dryer and a microwave oven, but it does not. They are still in renovation mode, so the outer appearance of the property still...

“Room very clean and beds extra comfortable. Lots of small decorating features for a motel and gardens on grounds were extra beautiful. Rooms themselves felt older but with new furnishings. Overall a comfortable stay.”

“I'm always happy when there are extra big fluffy towels. We were surprised to find they cleaned the room and brought new towels. This isn't always the case after Covid.”

“Positives: The room was fine. The staff is helpful as I came with the twisted ankle, he gave me the room on the first floor and brought suitcase and a bag of ice. Negatives: The ground is with potholes, drive carefully. The breakfast area is tiny. The selection is very limited even for continental. Tables were dirty. Hot water for tea wasn’t hot. There’s no usual ramp for suitcase even in front of the office”

“This nice motel by a lovely creek has great beds (not too hard, not too soft) and quality soaps and shampoos. Breakfast from 8 to 10am includes fresh strawberries and blueberries, oranges, apples, pears, and bananas, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, waffles, cereal, bagels, muffins and toast. Coffee was good plus orange juice and milk were available. And if you are so inclined, fresh baked chip cookies were also available. Service was personal and friendly. The motel is 20 minutes from Bennington...

“Best that can be said is that it was clean. The shower was ok. No on-site staff, we had to check in using a Ring doorbell and bad phone connection. The baseboard heat control required me to get on the floor and crawl into the corner of the room behind the fridge. And the room didn’t look at all like the picture on Expedia. Stay here if you have no other choice.”

“This hotel looks like you stepped into 1980. The front door had a gap that let in light and cold air. The wallpaper was peeling. There were scuff marks on the walls and door. The bathroom fixture was open and you could see exposed wiring. Some outlet plates were also open. The one lamp had non working electrical outlets. The room smelled musty. The beds were comfortable and the shower had reasonable pressure.”

“Very convenient on lovely lakeside and easy access to route 90 and towns like Lennox and Lee. Decor old fashioned and dull. Mint the Indian food restaurant is excellent, well priced and full of flavour.”
