“5 star facilities & the hotel in the main is good with an excellent location for exploring Buxton. However, a lack of a dedicated car park is an issue, whilst you can valet park this currently costs £30/night & may prove prohibitive for some. The restaurant for breakfast is never 4 star let alone 5. The quality of food is decidely average, while the staff are rude & inattentive. Don't consider visiting anytime near closing or you risk not getting any cooked food or even a hot drink! No fresh...

“Historic building full of character, enclosed feel as surrounded by trees, friendly and helpful staff, good food, one nice touch was packed lunch available at no extra cost, even better if more soap etc and more comfortable seats in dining room.”

“Will not be returning, staff not helpful at all, dog friendly but couldn’t even let the dog have a sausage at breakfast as they had ran out, they had also ran out of biscuits for the room, garden peas and orange juice. Not a cheap nights stay so these things should not be running out!! Best staff were the morning we were leaving, had they had been on all weekend it would have made it a more pleasant stay”
