"Our stay here was specifically because of the short walking distance to the Durango Train. The south end of their storage yard shared a fence with the parking lot and made for some very interesting access for pictures.
Breakfast was the absolute best of our entire trip for one very specific reason: BACON! Every other place we stayed for the week offered either no hot food at all or mediocre quality sausage. This alone was worth the stay.
The room was comfortable and inviting. The climate controls responded well. The floorspace was well laid out and allowed us to move around without much effort.
The bathroom was also well laid out and stocked with some very good smelling bathing products. Lights and the exhaust fan worked well.
Now, on to a few problem areas.
The threshold at the door to the hallway was a trip hazard. The reason why it has to be there is part of the most unique feature of this facility as well as it's one big drawback: the indoor pool in the atrium.
Being open to the entire inside of the building, it was very humid everywhere. The threshold on each room door kept it out of the room if sleeping in a sauna is not your thing. It is not for us so, the threshold was welcome.
The one bad memory for us was when a small child playing in the pool apparently was very angry about something and let everyone in the building know about it... for 3 - 4 minutes straight.
I would be very embarrassed as a parent to lose control of my kids in a public place like that."
