"We didn’t “stay” at the Strater Hotel we had an “experience”.The Strater Hotel is a step back in time. The Strater is the most unique hotel I’ve ever visited . The staff was excellent. The Diamond Belle Saloon and the Office Spiritorium both had live music both nights we visited them. The atmosphere was amazing and the service and food were excellent. We are looking forward to time traveling at the Strater the next time we visit Durango."

"Location is run down. Pool is permanently closed. Room smelled like smoke. Sheets were dirty. Sand or grit present on hard floor. No hot water. Hot breakfast was okay."
