“This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Cigarette smoke looming throughout the entire hotel(didn't bother us but something to definitely note), the room itself was absolutely gross -- grease/ dirt grime all over the walls, shower caulking was mildew ridden, particles/ hair in the "clean sheets" on the bed, AC sounded like it was on its last leg, appliances and such were definitely older(not a bad thing but again the cleanliness was an issue), the list truly goes on. We were so tired...

“We loved the Cary House. It's an old historic hotel, gorgeous lobby, furnished with period furniture, and an amazing old elevator. If you're into more modern and up to date furnishings and rooms, stay somewhere else. The people that work here are awesome. We'll be going back!”

“Pool was dirty, I was there for a full week and no one cleaned the pool! The kids had to use the Jacuzzi. It’s a great spot to be in Downtown Sacramento and close to everything in downtown. Staff was rude! We ask to have our rooms close by then they said it was full and we see multiple rooms empty in our floor. We ask for butter for breakfast and they were rude and mentioned they don’t have any. Sink were filled w mold and our sheet had stains so we took them off and bought a reusable sheet to...

“Room was not stocked with body shampoo or lotion upon arrival, didn't notice till showering. Went to front desk to let them know to please restock following day. Went out the following day and came back to only find out again that nothing was restocked. Went down to front desk again to ask for the supplies myself to take back up, after getting back to my room only to find the pump on the lotion broken. Also had the same issue with coffee for the 4 days I stayed. And no milk for my cereal....

“Freeway close, but no noise in my room. Loved my spacious king balcony room with a tree view. Room was spacious and had a microwave and mini frig for snacks in the room. (although the bathroom was a bit outdated). Breakfast included warm food which was great. Although I had issues checking in with a young man and his inability to handle 2 guest, the manager/owner and female staff were amazing. I extended my original stay.”

“Hidden gem!!! Initially, I was concerned about the area but the lodging was a huge surprise to me. Gated parking, exceptionally clean and bright room, staff who went out of their way to assist me, and quiet even though we were right off a Main Street. Will be staying here again the next time I come into the area. ”

“Always my go-to hotel whenever I visit Sacramento! Their breakfast specifically is the main reason, as I love how they keep it different every day, and the staff is always cleaning up and making sure there's food present. Friendly staff and with their renovated rooms its more modern and clean.”
