The onsen was lovely, as were the staff. The room was spacious with lots of storage, excellent shower, comfortable bed and provision of everything we needed, including fresh ptjamas, robe and slippers daily…
On the downside, the hotel looks a bit like a sports club or conference centre in places, it is stark, with little atmosphere in the bar. We were unable to try the Japanese restaurant for dinner, the French one had minuscule portions, probably exacerbated by the waitress asking if I wanted a half portion and clearly misunderstanding the question of how large it was - a 2 inch square portion of fish… the trout starter was very good and my partner pronounced his tiny portion of beef excellent.
