“Lovely staff, with car parking and a fantastic room (No. 100). We had evening drinks in the garden and then a lovely evening meal in the restaurant and breakfast the next morning. Would definitely return. Many thanks”

“Couldn't comment on staff because we didn't see any. But saying that the room was clean, bed comfortable and adequate supplies. Excellent shower and wash facilities. Handy for Chirk Castle and British Ironworks Park. ”

“Welcoming at reception and told about where things were very helpful and understanding Ron was clean and bright with out look onto canal my only niggle was WiFi in room not the best but great at reception and could not tv to work radio through tv ok but wanted to watch a bit of telly overall great place to stop food food and lot of welcoming staff”

“Avoid! I stayed in a single room on the second floor of this pub. The room was very tired/shabby and in desperate need of a deep clean. Old carpet fraying around the edges, dirty splashes up the wall, etc. Sloping, creaking floor. The mattress was old and uncomfortable - springs dig into you all night. I’m always wary of non-white towels and bed linen as cleanliness is never as good - it’s dark grey towels here and grey bed linen. Thin pillows and duvet. And the TV didn’t work. I now see...

“The room was clean and very compact, it lacked appeal but had most of the amenities you would want at this price. There is no interaction with staff at all as self check in, the heating wasn’t on although the radiator in the hall was hot, one curtain hardly covered the window, my room,2, was at the front of the property so people leaving the pub were talking loudly at 11.30/12pm and then again at 1am which woke me up, the shower was good, the wash basin so tiny you couldn’t get the tiny kettle...

“The room had a couple of cleanliness issues,also looking out of our room window there was a great big container not great. Also breakfast was a bit of a let down,the size of my husband's full Welsh breakfast was smaller the 2nd morning,loads of mushrooms,2 halves of tomatoe on 2nd breakfast about 4 bits of mushrooms and 1 halves of tomato”

“The room wasn’t bad, and nothing was inherently bad. It was relatively clean. Although, the bath panel was off, the room smelt damp, there was no hot water, the bath mat was mouldy. ”
