"The food is not great. The restaurant food is pretty good, but the rest of the food is below average. "

"This our fourth year visiting this property and the staff are amazing, the property is kept incredibly clean and the rooms are spacious and very sound proof. Samuel at the bistro restaurant, the hostesses at the Veranda restaurant, Damian at the pool bar, and all of the housekeeping staff are exceptional, long term employees who are so caring and wonderful. Our kids adored going to the kids club, even though they are older - the staff were so lovely and they always had fun activities happening. We had a beachfront suite and it was ahhhhmazing. The view and central location between the two pools was perfect. The beach is stunning, but the ocean is pretty wild here and not safe for extensive swimming, but perfect for jumping in the waves and building sandcastles. The lifeguards are highly attentive but most days the ocean was red-flagged and not safe for swimming due to the riptides/undercurrent. The hotel is lovely and amazing, we can’t recommend it enough. "

"PROS: It is a beautiful hotel with 3 connected swimming pools near the beach and a children water park on the other end. The beach has recliners, a lifeguard, a gym, a expensive spa, and many restaurants and bars, apart from the general buffet area. It is at a walking distance to a Mayan anthropological site and museum. The staff is amicable and professional. The place is clean. CONS: It is very difficult to get a table at one of the restaurants, but when you finally get one, you realize the food is no better than the one offered at the buffet area. If you have an allergy, the buffet area is not the best place to eat, since they use the same utensils and cross-contaminate everything. The quality of the food is OK, nothing exceptional. The two stores inside the hotel sell beach stuff, but at prices that you wouldn't believe: $40 for a sun screen bottle!!! More than $100 for a pair of pants!!! That's ridiculous. "

"We had a great view of the ocean and the lagoon. The room was very clean! The food and drinks were amazing. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We pent a lot of our time by the pool and beach. Overall I would highly recommend Secrets The Vine!!! "

"Hard Rock Cancun is small but inviting. Service staff was great but stay clear of the pushy vacation planners staff. Evening dinners require a reservation so book your dinners for each night of your stay as soon as you arrive. Any of the restaurants can accommodate booking reservations for all restaurants. Stop by one and book for all the others for the stay. (Wish I would have known this ahead of time) Older resort with slow elevators. Pool area is nice but plan to get up early and go reserve your chairs. Great entertainment in the outdoor theater and fun entertainment and activities pool side throughout the day. Room service was handy but food wasn’t great. The hot tub in our room was disgusting and jets shot out rusty water but friends had a hot tub in their room that worked great so I guess we were just unfortunate. Overall stay was pleasant. "
