"I had an overall great experience at The Watergate Hotel. The property itself is beautiful, with a prime location and a sophisticated, upscale atmosphere that really stands out. The staff was welcoming, and the amenities added to the overall luxury feel of the stay. The only downside for me was that the rooms felt a bit outdated compared to the rest of the hotel. While they were clean and comfortable, a more modern refresh would really elevate the experience. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider coming back, especially if the rooms are updated in the future."

"On arrival: • hair left in the shower curtain • questionable brown smear on the bathroom doorway • bath drain was slow • difficult to pull plug on tap to make ALL the water come through shower head. • poor water pressure in shower • light-pollution from the bathroom night light and the atrium (because the curtains don’t close fully), as well as the microwave, AND from under the doorway was disruptive. • could hear the person upstairs using the toilet • the front desk was difficult to reach by telephone on more than one occasion. • elevators always had dirty floors with rubbish or water • on-site management was unreachable. Never made contact with me despite request. • The doors of other rooms were always slamming shut. Very loud and loud enough to wake us. Soft-shut hinges would help."

"Breakfast was not very good. Eggs were over cooked and they only had one type of bread for toast. Service was also slow and seemed confused because we had to repeat ourselves a couple types on what we wanted to order. "

"The hotel is a tribute to DC architecture. The staff is very accommodating. Free coffee 24 hours a day a huge perk. Safe building. Walk to everything you need. Staff recommended great places to eat. Quiet nights. 24/hr staff service. National Guard walks the neighborhood so you can walk safely at all hours. Highly recommend this place"
