I stayed at Maya Royale Dec 30 - Jan 5. I have a great experience and would go back and recommend it to anyone without issues. I had some reservations prior to going there, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The buffet was great, good diversity and each day had a different theme so you didn't eat the same thing every day. The NYE dinner at the buffet (you have the option to pay and have a fixed menu at one of the restaurants) was impressive: lobster tail, pecking duck, crab legs, foie-gras ... kudos to the chef (and pastry chef). Drinks were good (not watered down) and staff friendly. We went to the French restaurant and the food was amazing (especially the short rib). Overall, it was a great experience. Pros: - good food (and variety) / drinks - compliments to the chefs/pastry chefs - friendly and helpful staff - activities throughout the day - clean property / pool Cons: - water (beach) is not cleaned from seaweed (fortunately was not too bad) - NYE show - the first part was too long with some variety shows that dragged on too long. Just make those much shorter so people can get up and dance. ½ hour prior to new year of dancing is not enough; and can get chilly at night so seating for 2+ hours is not good.

I loved my stay at the Ocean Maya Royale especially the entertainment staff who made it so amazing. Special thanks to the entertainment crew: Viri, Kendell, and Moises. Also, in the bar love to thank you Yovanetti for making my experience fabulous. Last but not least, thank you Roberto, at check-in who got me checked in quickly as he knew I really wanted to make the entertainment event at the pool before it was over and even was able to get me room nearby the activities which I loved.

We loved this resort! The food was very good compared to most resorts. The beach area was very nice. Everything was clean and the staff was very nice. We will be back!

The room was beautiful, large and comfortable. The house keeping lady was great. She offered room service daily, but respected that we didn’t want it daily and found Qtips for us. The food and restaurant staff were fantastic everywhere we went. While it was totally sold out & smaller than other hotels we’d been to, there was always space at the beach and in all restaurants and at amenities. The beaches were beautiful and always had people cleaning the seaweed. If you are looking for a party place or lots of adventures and things to do, this place may not be for you. We had a fantastic restful stay with great quality food and yummy drinks which was exactly what we needed. Thank you, Carmen and Joe

The activity staff were very good. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The buffet food options did not provide a lot of options. Some of the specialty restaurants, specifically, Yakoosa, was closed a few nights and the hosts draconian controls caused me to not be able to eat with friends...overall it was nice.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were very comfortable. Food and drinks were excellent at all the restaurants , bars and coffee shops. Highly recommend for a truly relaxing escape!

The room was a little outdated but that didnt bother us since we mostly spent time outside on the beach or doing activities. Ocean Maya Royale has a great sandy beach without any rocks so that was great. There are plenty of activities to do (tequila tasting, wine tasting, bracelet making, games in the pool, coffee making, karaoke in the evening, guessing songs trivia and more). Huge shout out to hard working staff Viri, Gustavo, Pillar, Augustin at Mike's coffee place. Highly recommend coffee at Mike's coffee. Watch out for mosquitoes at open restaurants in the evening like Dolce Vita and El Charro. Otherwise, great stay and great staff. Thank you everyone that made our vacation great.

We go back to OMR because of the fantastic people; Kenddell, JoJo, Jony, Eber, Francisco, Miguel, Diego. The interactions and conversations had with the employees make you feel special and important. Yes the facilities could be updated but the employees go above and beyond any other resort.

I had an amazing stay at Ocean Maya Royale! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and taken care of. The resort is beautiful, clean, and well maintained, with a relaxing adults-only atmosphere that made it the perfect getaway. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the food was delicious with plenty of variety, and the beach and pools were absolutely stunning. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, from the restaurants to housekeeping and entertainment. Overall, my experience exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend Ocean Maya Royale to anyone looking for a relaxing, high-quality resort. I can’t wait to come back!

The experience team is honestly what made my week at this resort so memorable! Everyone was so nice and fun, and they made sure to remember your name and check in. Especially Kendell, He was the life of the party and so kind! Viri was another staff member I became close to, she was so sweet! Alejandro, Victor, Gustavo, Marian, Susi, and Moises were also very helpful and social with the visitors, making sure everything was okay and would encourage you to participate in fun activities! The whole team did good at communicating with everyone, encouraging participation while becoming your friend. This was my first time at this resort, and I would return! The resort is smaller than my usual go tos, but I enjoyed everything being closer. One suggestion I do have for the resort in general, is that it would have been convenient to have a drying rack in the room to dry our wet/damp clothes from the day. That way we don’t have to leave it outside, since it did rain a good amount for us, or have clothes everywhere in our room.

It was great overall, the only “issues” I had were the following: Food could’ve been a little better, lots of it was bland The sheets weren’t changed for our room for the last couple of days of our stay. Even though we asked for them to be changed the cleaners would just flip the sheets around instead. Other than that absolutely everything was perfect.

The food selection was not all that great. Resort was small and not much to do. Alcohol and soda was extremely watered down. We had bugs in our room and all over my clothes in my suitcase. This was our first time in Cancun and will not be returning to this resort.

Everything about this resort and our stay was stellar. No complaints. Exceptional service by Alfredo, Margarita, Juan and Edith especially . Staff and guests so friendly. Food at buffet bit hit and miss but overall good. We had the Privilege package and i highly recommend. Felt really spoiled. One negative was the chair saving at pool and beach. Difficult to get decent spot unless you get there by 5 or 6am to stake your spot with your towel Overall we loved our stay and will be back!
