“This is wonderful resort. The property seems to be recently updated/renewed and its very clean and all functional. We had very smooth stay with our kids. Food and drink were great, pools always clean, beautiful beach. The sea had seagrass, but we knew its the period and we enjoyed the beach play anyway. We also used the gym, where you can do all body exercises. Other guests had manners and all together had great vibe. Definitely would return and recommend this resort.”

“The beach was clean and well provided with lounge chairs and activities for those who want them such as volleyball and water sports. It was a busy March Break week but the beach and the restaurants were not crowded and line-ups for food were short. The buffet was really great for breakfast and lunch.”

“The amenities and activities at Viva Maya are very good. The resort is very nice and has a beautiful beach with plenty of chairs for all guests. The food is good as well. The restaurants are nicely decorated and special. The only negatives are: small hotel rooms that seem dated and poor internet. ”

“I would recommend that nobody EVER stay at this hotel. We stayed at Viva Azteca for one night and were transferred to Viva Maya for the rest of our stay. This was due to harassment by the “manager of security”. I asked for the video footage by the bar and was ably to prove that he was harassing my 20 year old daughter and her 23 year old friend. He accused them of being underage and when they showed him their ID’s, he continued to harass them and told all bars to not service them anymore. ...

“This was a “ buyer beware” situation for me. I have been there a couple times previously with family members who have had a timeshare for 30 years and always stayed in nice quarters. This time I paid for my own one bedroom. I was put into a studio “ cave” with no window. That was NOT what was advertised. Of course, I was unable to get it changed. The ocean view is fantastic. Except for breakfast, the food was mediocre, at best. The servers are wonderfully helpful, the resort staff’s most often ...
