"My husband and I were mesmerized by the sound of the ocean, we slept with the patio doors open. We went August 20, 2026 and totally enjoyed our room. We lazily drank coffee in bed while waking up and the went down to have breakfast. We dined outside (the patio heaters were on). Excellent and then we walked to the Monterey Aquarium and enjoyed 20 foot aquarium window, sturgeon. jelly fish, very helpful docents."

"This place is in a spectacular spot but is in need of a severe overhaul! The rooms are beyond dated. Just don't look closely. It's like you stepped into the 60's. That being said they were clean enough. Loved the little deck off the room with chairs. The lodge was quaint and had pool tables and a band playing outside. Hard to navigate the property to find your room. It's huge and a maze. The big draw here is it sits right at the ocean. Look at it as summer camp, not a fancy place. Had a room with a working fireplace, that was a nice touch. They gave you wood and fire starters."

"I would absolutely stay here again. Great room with very comfortable bed and a great kitchen. The property is beautiful and well maintained. There is a common area with a gas grill and our enclosed patio even had a small hibachi. Wood burning fireplace and the wood is restocked in a large container on your patio. They are very pet friendly and the beach is a short walk away. I looked at several places before selecting this one and I am glad I did."

"Okay. The property is excellent, located in a very nice neighborhood, and the beach is super close to the hotel. The room was very clean and new, and the parking was very good, a little small but fine. Breakfast is to go. I think it's okay for me; I'm celiac, so it's just bread and bread, haha. But they have yogurt and fruit, so that's fine for me. I don't remember if they have pancakes. Anyway, I think the problem is the staff. The person is staring at you all the time, haha, like you're a thief. Breakfast is served in the lobby, so you can get coffee there all the time, but I don't think she approves. Would I want to return to the hotel? No, the hotel itself is fine, but the staff is not"
