"The hotel is centrally located in Haymarket with lots of little restaurants near by. It's an easy walk to the Dean Village and the new Town of Edinburgh. The rooms are compact but efficient with the only challenge one charging area for devices. There are no other electrical outlets. The staff was excellent....friendly and accommodating especially Mattius who assisted us on arrival. The breakfast was also excellent with a wide selection of cold items and pastries. Overall, I recommend this hotel."

"The staff at this hotel are so lovely. The best hotel staff I’ve come across in many years. They were so kind and helpful and easy to approach. My rating is based solely on the staff! A big thank you to Vikki the duty manager and Sri at the front desk. The hotel itself is nice and well maintained for an older property. The breakfast is reasonably priced and worth it if you book in advance the day before. Perfect location for exploring multiple areas of Edinburgh. I walked everywhere during my stay. Of course during August the price is inflated per night as everywhere is in the city but I would stay here again!"

"It was a unique stay on a boat in Leith that had clearly been lovingly restored and maintained. We loved our room and the decor. The staff were outstanding from the moment we came aboard, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the area and very attentive. We especially thought that the young waiter at the bar who made our cocktails was really lovely, cheery and funny. There was a very small issue with our room which was quickly resolved but we were delighted to be given 2 mugs as a ‘sorry for the inconvenience’ which is a lovely memento of our stay and a testament to how really lovely the staff were. We will certainly be back."

"Everything was fantastic I would give 4.5 Stars! Only one issue, the brunette bar tender gave us a tongue lashing about having our own wine up stairs in the lounge and she could charge us a corkage fee, but she didn’t know the manager made an exception to accommodate us because it was raining on the deck and my hubby is in a power wheelchair. The half star was lost by her being the only one not in the know and embarrassing us, however the half star was regained by all the other employees who went out of their way to make our stay amazing. They even built my husband a ramp to access the deck so I can confidently say The Fingal is accessible for all the next guests who want to enjoy the deck and the beautiful views. Thank you Callum, Simona, and the Fingal for such an unforgettable stay! I highly recommend!!"

"This well presented hotel is not far from the St. James Quarter shopping centre, Princess Street and The Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. The hotel was clean and the rooms were vere large. Staff were excellent and courteous. Will definitely go back."

"The location was very convenient to the tram and bus service. The room was spacious for the UK. The breakfast was AMAZING! The staff were very helpful. Only negative was the chair in our room was visibly quite soiled but other than that the room was clean and the bathroom was great. We loved our stay here. Highly recommend!"
