"Mixed experience, overall very positive stay. Great housekeeping, spacious rooms, EXCELLENT location but a frustrating front desk experience and very expensive valet parking.
We had a recent stay at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park and it was an overall positive stay. The corner room that we received was massive and very well-appointed. There was a generous sized closet with plenty of space for our luggage and an area with a medium sized desk. The bathroom was also very large, well-lit and had plenty of counter space.
I want to give a special shoutout to the outstanding housekeeping staff. I wish I had caught her name but she was a Asian woman responsible for the 9th floor. She was friendly and professional every time we crossed paths, and her service alone made the stay feel worthwhile.
Unfortunately, our check-in experience left something to be desired. The front desk staff member who checked us in was very polite and very nice, but rushed us through the process without explaining any of the hotel amenities: no mention of the, fitness center, business center or what the "resort/destination fee" gave us. We only found out about the amenities by exploring the property ourselves and overhearing another couple checking in next to us. A basic rundown at check-in would have gone a long way.
Overall, great location, spacious corner room with fantastic views, and terrific housekeeping. The front desk check-in experience was a bit lacking and valet parking was very expensive"
