"10min walk from Kyoto Station which is also where a lot of great day trip tours meet up. Check in and out process were clear and efficient and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Being an English speaker posed no problem at all. There were clear directions and explanations for the facilities and amenities via pamphlets, the TV home menu, and various QR codes. The rooms and hotel in general were simple and elegant using tatami mats throughout most areas and comfortable "room clothes" were provided that could be worn about the hotel (which was also handy for doing washing at the self serve hotel laundry). The breakfast option was excellent and I was able to find a great dinner place 5 minutes walk from the hotel. I could get up early for buffet breakfast, walk 10 minutes to a pre booked tour, spend all day exploring beautiful temples and scenery, do some laundry if needed, walk down the road and grab dinner, then head back to soak in the onsen before relaxing in bed (it was also summer and 39 degrees during said tours so the onsen really let you unwind that tired mind and body). Best stay on my trip so far. Almost didn't want to move on to the next city!"
