"My room on the second floor seemed recently renovated and was clean and modern. My only conplaint was the single mattress was too firm. The breakfast was basic but good."

"The place is small, but very comfortable. The pillows, sheets and towels are very nice and comfortable, the linens feel like 5 start hotel quality. The contactless check in and check out are very easy. Beautiful garden too. "

"The hotel is situated in a beautiful, quiet location with stunning views of the loch from the lounge and dining room. The staff were friendly and helpful but service at evening dinner was very slow at times. The hotel is small and was built about 10 years ago. It appears to have been originally well specified at the time but, being hyper- critical, 10 years' use is starting to show up now in places. Nevertheless we would be happy to stay again, especially if the perfect weather could be...

"Breakfast and restaurant food was fabulous, staff were fabulous. Just pay overnight parking only 5 minutes walk away. It’s summer, our room was quite warm but I removed the doona from the cover and left the window open. Being above a pub on a Saturday night I thought it would be noisy but we didn’t have any issue. I can’t wait to go back. "

It was exactly as portrayed: an historic (and idiosyncratic) small inn/hotel; not fancy, very straightforward; on the water in a wonderful location; a great kitchen punching way above its weight. But the best part was its staff. Warm, genuine. I felt cared about by every staff member I interacted with. Kudos."

"Beautiful location (waterfront), extremely friendly and helpful staff, close to lots of walkable dining options,…. Only con was that there were very few close parking spaces. One night we ended up parking in a pay to park lot about 5-10 minutes walk away. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker. Still would recommend this hotel if staying in Portree."

"Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The lovely Maryanne and the mischievous Angus were perfect hosts. The room has an amazing view, the bed, bathroom and everything was 'just so.' we had a great night sleep and then to top it off, the best breakfast. Thanks Maryanne! "We loved our stay here. The picture window looking over the water was beautiful. The cabin was wonderfully simple and yet held all we needed. I had tried to book it for 4 nights but it was only available for 2 when we were there. I would have gladly booked it for all 4 and if we ever return to Skye we will definitely look ahead of time to book all our nights here again. Loved its eco friendliness as well! "
