"I specifically picked this hotel and the higher priced room, because it indicated it had a balcony. But ours didn't. When I indicated this, the staff indicated they have received this complaint lots. They also said they have the right to assign rooms. Not all of the higher priced rooms have a balcony. Even though they are pictured this way. To me, they are saying the have the right to false advertise. Not a good business plan. There is nothing in the room to put your luggage on to open it. So you have to use the floor to get things out of your suitcase. Also offered a free drink. That turned out to be about an ounce of port wine. Nothing special. Don't waste your money like I did. Our friends place, a block down, which I decided against, was better and cheaper option. "

The restaurant manager, Antonio, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making the evening truly memorable. The hotel is also right in the heart of the city center, which made it very convenient when we had tours scheduled and needed to meet with several tour guides. "My mom and I had a great stay at Hotel da Baixa during our trip to Lisbon. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They helped arrange transportation to and from the airport, which made our travel days much less stressful, and they were also very helpful with our luggage. One thing we really appreciated was how safe the hotel felt. The doors remain locked and there is staff available at the front desk 24 hours a day, which gave us peace of mind coming back in the evenings. The location was also ideal. We were able to walk to many attractions, shops, and restaurants around Lisbon, which made exploring the city very convenient. The only small thing to note is that because the hotel is located along a bus and tram route, Ubers can’t drop you off directly in front of the hotel. However, it’s only a short walk and didn’t impact our stay much. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would happily return the next time we’re in Lisbon. "

"The room was far too warm when I arrived. The thermostat read 25-28C and the temperature could not be adjusted due to a lock set by the hotel. The street was so loud with singing from a nearby bar that opening that window was really unpleasant. The bathroom was so small that, even as a small person, I had to awkwardly bend and maneuver to open and close the door. I wouldn't stay here for more than 1-2 nights and I wasn't looking forward to my second night. "
