“Good location, friendly people, clean rooms.”

“A short but very sweet stopover for us at this lodge. The staff are beyond excellent and offered great service, activities and fabulous food. So glad we stayed and suggest you do too.”

“Awesome”

“The staff was the sweetest! They really took care of us. Nice rooms, fun tracks to go with bike, lots of space for the kids, overall we had a great time ! ”

“Pre-check in comms and answering cell number after arrival were very poorly handled. Would have been better to be able to chat to someone to get the details from a human than just a board at reception when we arrived. ”

“Har kan du verkligen slappna av i fantastiska omgivningar. Personalen är så vänliga. Ägarna fantastiska. Detaljerna är helt underbara och det finns friska blommor överallt inne. Kan varmt rekommendera att äta den gemensamma middagen på långbordet. Träffa andra gäster och dela erfarenheter. Mycket god mat av hög kvalité. Fantastisk frukost upplägg. ”

“We turned up at the property and it was not as described, it was in the middle of a very undesirable area we did not feel at all safe and were we had to park the car to unload was very sketchy, so we immediately took the decision we would not stay here and took the hit and moved onto another hotel which was in a better area, they should be honest about the location it’s very hard to see when you look at a map”

Make sure you ask them to tighten your tent in advance or you'll wake up innumerable times per night thinking you're at Everest base camp. They don't tell you about a tiny little clip you must use, or your tent will be ransacked by baboons that the staff will accuse you of LYING about. Bring headlamps and power chargers because you might be without...

“We had a fantastic stay. The design of the cottages are stunning, the surrounding nature is breath-taking! It is perfect for families who want to get away from the noise and rush of the city. ”

“We stayed in Hoopoe Cottage. While I appreciate that Barton is under new ownership, our experience was disappointing. Before we even arrived, our booking had been incorrectly recorded for the wrong day (fortunately my husband phoned to confirm). We'd also arranged an early bag drop (no issue there) and were told the hot tub would be lit before our return from the Overberg Explorer. When we got back, there was no cot despite confirming one and the hot tub was ice cold because the fire had gone...
