"I was In the old part of the hotel and did not care for it nearly as much as the newer part. It seemed darker and no bathrobes or bathroom incidentals (cotton balls, qtips, etc.). Staff was still great and I love The Read House just not the older wing of rooms."

The staff was helpful with finding a place to eat on our last night that was delicious. The bacon in the breakfast was paper thin but still good. Again the staff were helpful and nice. We had a neighbor who was smoking on their balcony and it was coming into our room. The staff handled it quickly. "

"This place is amazing. We love it here!!! We've stayed here twice and other than one staff member being a little gruff everything here is great! Rooms and entire building is clean, very nice, breakfast is good. We have not had any bad experiences good. I think the only complaint we've had is not enough towels in the pool area and the bathroom had some trim missing on the wall. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!"

"I am surprised that no reviews mention this is a timeshare. When we checked in, I asked about waterpark passes. I was told that the concierge would help with that. That’s when I found out about the timeshare. They said we could attend a 90 minute presentation &tour w/ breakfast and get free water park admission, among a few other things. I really only wanted the water park passes but agreed. The breakfast was at 10am the next day. I have 2 pre-teens with me. The breakfast was horrible and we chose not to try the food at the resort as a result. The "90 min" presentation turned into a 5 hour ordeal w/multiple people attempting to talk us into joining and the price going lower &lower. I told them it didn’t make sense for us and with the ever increasing cost of living, I can’t add any other monthly expenses. I think they would have kept us there until it was time for them to leave. My daughter went back to the room b/c she was so upset. My son and I walked out before they could send a third person. We did not get our free water park passes. Our entire first day of vacation was wasted and we were mentally drained. We paid $35 ea for the waterpark which only has 2 big slides and my kids were ready to leave after 2 hours. They did not want to get in any of the pools bc the water was extremely dirty looking. There is no housekeeping and only “owners” get towels replaced. There is only one towel rack so our towels inevitably ended up on the floor. I would recommend a different lodge."
