Pub itself was nice. Stuff behind the bar were very friendly. Landlord was grumpy and chose to see it with both their big air-condition fans facing himself.”

“The George is a really cute historic inn that is situated in a quiet, magical little village - it is literally right across the street from the ruin of a Norman castle. While you need to leave town to get to Frome or Bath, the bus stop is located right outside the inn. It has a friendly little pub that serves good food and is frequented by guests and locals. “Very pretty property, with a great view. A little distance from the city center, but they run a most friendly and flexible shuttle into town that works great, very good idea and a very commendable effort. Breakfast is good. We had a large room (2 adults 2 kids) very spacious. Some aspects of maintenance could be improved, but it is always a challenge with these country homes, they have the charm, but not everything is impecable. A little on the expensive side, but reasonable. Great parking.”

“Stayed for 3 nights. Parking at the rear always available, From 'check in' onwards the staff were pleasant, helpful and professional, including carrying our bags to the first floor room. The double room was quite spacious, with it's own short 'hall' to the bath/shower room and door to the main hotel landing, so you enter into a short hall and not straight into the bedroom, nice touch. The room was clean, nicely set out, comfortable and well equipped. The only downside to the room was creaky...

“Parking is brilliant. Lovely spacious room with comfy bed. The only draw back is as it was very warm, having the window open at night is not good. Very noisy boy racers and loud drunk people everywhere. Shower water drains very slowly. Apart from that, perfect location.”
