“On arrival at Reception after long journeys on an extremely hot day we were told that the Bar wasn't open, although advertised as open all day, and as our rooms were not available for 15-minutes there was no access to tea, coffee or cold drink. We were directed to a local pub instead! This was a very bad start. We had booked a table for 6 at 7.30pm in the dining room but hadn't been informed that there was a large screen tv by our table and a raucous crowd surrounded us watching the football....

“Great landlady, very nice and helpful !!! Nice establishment !! Bedroom great and bed super comfortable !! The toilet needed taking out and replacing, it was in a slant and the joists underneath had gone. Everything else was great apart from the toilet !!!”

“Bit of a rabbit warren of a place and the single room was clean but quite small though had both a bath and shower. Bathroom could do with some diy. Across the road from a nightclub but sound proofing was ok as the windows of the room were sealed relying instead on efficient air con. Main issue was the sense of damp of the mattress and duvet which may have been due to a mattress cover. At one point sleeping on the floor seemed attractive.”

“Parking is brilliant. Lovely spacious room with comfy bed. The only draw back is as it was very warm, having the window open at night is not good. Very noisy boy racers and loud drunk people everywhere. Shower water drains very slowly. Apart from that, perfect location.”

“The room was very dainted could do with a reverb in the bedrooms stayed on the hottest weekend in June and all we had was a old small fan in the room Bathroom could do with a very deep clean. Pub itself was nice. Stuff behind the bar were very friendly. Landlord was grumpy and chose to see it with both their big air-condition fans facing himself.”

“Lovely country pub, perfect for a stop over or to stay a few nights in the countryside. Staff were friendly and thoughtful, the food was excellent, and the restaurant/beer garden out the back was lovely in the warm summer eve.”

“The property is quite quirky with uneven floors but has character. Quite a small hotel and choices at breakfast were limited. Vegetarians and people with other dietary requirements not really catered for.”
