"We stayed here in fall 2023. Location is very convenient to Ribiera Brava (5 minutes by car; we did not take a bus). Great restaurants in town Beautiful clifftop views of the ocean. Private pool (for the 3 units). Very nice ocean view balcony for wine etc. Make sure you let the hosts know when you are arriving as they need to open the front gate (our fault!). Ample parking inside the gate. Wonderful clean facilities. Breakfasts excellent in a common kitchen (too many choices…the pastries...

"Very good communication prior to arrival, clear instructions. The hotel is well located in Monte area, next to the cable car and Monte Tropical Garden. Room was spacious, comfy, well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with repeating but wide choice of good quality food. The restaurant itself is excellent, we dined a few times, perfect seafood, big portions at fair prices. "Amazing view especially at night. Pool is so lovely but a lil chilly in winter, great to practice some singing & swimming if a little cold. Also a great view with pool. Bathroom is beautiful and bed super comfy. Love the Big flower fan on the roof...love the kitchen space downstairs. Great place to stay!"

"Wonderful location, run by genuinely lovely people. We took the self catering apartment option and it suited us down to the ground. Slightly remote if you are not fully mobile. We did not want to hire a car, so used taxis a lot. We were given a driver's number and received excellent service. There is a handy bus service into Funchal."

"Great, clean stay in a great location in Funchal. Sergio is a great host. There is no parking but there are garages close by for very cheap 24 hour parking. My only complaint was that the pillows were very cheap and uncomfortable so I used the blanket as a pillow. "

"We were at no.55, which initially i was a bit concerned about. However it was lovely, we had a large room at the front. Noisy in Fri night but ok for the rest of the time. You are right in the old town afterall!"

"I loved the hammock on our porch! The rose garden was beautiful. Our porch had a view of the sea and the mountains. It was nice to have a separate sitting area and the weather was beautiful to enjoy sitting out on the porch."
