โLocation is good, opposite is the ski resort, which has good snow. Overall room was well maintained, public Onsen was nice too. However we came during early ski season, there is barely any restaurants opens. Hotel cafe food is a bit expensive, and not much choice (mainly western). If plan to stay may order half board instead, or tell hotel staff to reserve dinner before 10amโ
โStayed 2 nights and had an AMAZING experience. Dinner was a fantastic experience. We enjoyed embracing the Japanese culture while wearing the Yukata throughout! Onsens were a great time. Highly recommended!!!โ
โThe staff was friendly.
Upon arrival the guest gets a yukata and a key to 9 public thermal springs around the town, where he may bath freely. Note that they are extremely hot. The staff also offers a free ride to the Snow Monkey Park or Yudanaka Station in the morning.โ
โThe manager (owner?) and his wife were incredibly welcoming and pleasant. They take great pride in their hotel and it shows in every aspect of our stay. โ
โWhat a delightful place to stay! Cannot praise the staff enough! They were all so helpful, friendly and accomodating. Some English speaking staff, who were honestly the best we met in our two week stay in Japan. We were told that they donโt get many English-speaking visitors and we were the only ones there, which my teen son and I loved. We love immersing in the Japanese experience when visiting, and this hotel definitely offered this.
The rooms were simple but clean and tidy and well...
โWe enjoyed our stay at Hotel Shiga Sunvalley. Loved the style of the Japanese rooms, it was very clean and the staff were exceptional!
Usui and staff helped up with any questions we had, ski rentals, keeping luggage after check out, shuttle bus information. Would stay with them again 10/10โ
โImpeccably clean, nice hot onsen, super helpful front desk. Cozy comfy beds. We donโt try the food but we will next time because it smelled delicious. *expedia site is WRONG - itโs not a 3 minute walk to ski resort - Itโs a 30 min drive.โ
โThis Ryokan was quaint in the perfect way. It felt traditional without the modern flair. The owner was amazing and drove me to the snow monkey park at no cost. The onsen was perfect and tatami room was gorgeous. Amazing view around the town with the snow.โ
โThe staff at this property is top notch. My friends and I were welcomed warmly, quickly given recommendations in and around Kusatsu, and even provided a complimentary sweet milk, traditionally consumed after an onsen soak.
The facility was very much a labor of love. The private onsens were clean, convenient, and absolutely rejuvenating.
The public areas were intimate, clean, and provided retro video games and board games.
We were even offered complimentary coffee at a coffee shop close to...
โThe staff are very attentive and most accomodating. We enjoyed our dinners and breakfasts here and all our meals were delicious. A very cozy and relaxing environment. We would definitely return.โ
โDejligt hotel tรฆt ved yudanaka station. Der er Onsen ogsรฅ i private rum. Meget dejlig buffet om aftenen inkl drikkevarer. Lidt svรฆrt at forstรฅ deres engelsk og de dr meget hjรฆlpsomme. Nรฆromrรฅdet almindeligt.โ
"The room is quite old and seems a smoking room, which smells a little. It is quite old and worn-out, not clean. But, it is acceptable given the price in the neighborhood. The lobby is good and spacious."
