"It's a unique little place in the heart of the Prenzlberg district of Berlin. Just a block from Schönhauser Allee S & U train station and also a block from historic Gethsemane church. Lots of little eateries and a major shopping center all just a few steps away. Neatly appointed rooms that fit right into the district's vibe. And an ice cream shop right att the entrance. "We stayed over the NYE holiday and didn’t expect to find something so affordable. The location was alright in terms of convenience but the area is a bit questionable. Either way, the reception desk staff were very kind and the room itself was very clean and comfortable. Not bad! "

"This was my first visit to a hotel with no reception personnel. However, the instructions were good and I was able to check in on the machine and receive a room key. I speak some German, so that helped in following the registration instructions. The only complaint is that the door was left ajar on two occasions by the cleaning staff. It required a slight slam to get it to close properly. It is very convenient to public transportation, shopping and good. There was a great breakfast spot one-half...

"Getting the key out of small box not clearly marked or indeed explained in the email was very stressful. This is a real problem. Hotel reception closes at 4pm!!!!"

"The entrance and access to the rooms was dirty and unwelcoming. There was a lot of noise from delivery trucks and garbage trucks. There was no reception to speak of and this made it difficult to organise anything like taxis etc to get around. Extremely rude and arrogant manager who swore and used foul language when we made a comment that he was not very helpful or courteous. The place itself once passed the entrance was lovely but there was no lift and no help with luggage up the stairs. ...

"The Pension Unicat was a great place to stay outside of Berlin. We stayed in an annex(?) across the street and our rooms were large. The rooms were clean, bright and airy. The restaurant was excellent and the portions were huge. The staff all spoke at least a little English were friendly and helpful. The train into Berlin is just down the street about a 5 minute walk. The only con was the on street metered parking."

Clean room with balcony and small kitchen facilities. Very good shower. Great location if you want to explore central Berlin. A few mins walk from a subway station"
