"We only stayed the one night"

"The room was clean and the staff very friendly, but we did find a few slight issues, the breakfast room had two tables, unfortunately when we arrived it was cold so eating outside was not an option, or you had to take your breakfast back to the room. The rooms whilst clean had peeling paint on the cupboard, chipped tiles in the bathroom and a chipped table. The room doors where heavy which resulted in doors slamming shut late into the night. The hotel is on a busy road where traffic can be heard. It’s in a great location, close to the marina and beach, State Street is a short walk away where restaurants and shopping can be found. "

"Lovely stay in a quiet part of town but only 2 blocks to the beach."

"Room was very basic, small and nothing like pictured on the listing. The bed was uncomfortable, springs poking. Shower water pressure was low. Breakfast was basic. On our last night the smoke alarm kept beeping and finally we got up at 3am to call the desk. The guy came and wanted change the battery but it was wired so he just unplugged it and left. Very safe. Never got back to sleep so we just left early. The hot tub jets also malfunctioned the night before. Way too expensive for a room was that essentially a motel 6."

"Hotel was an easy walk to State St, the Funk Zone and directly across the street from the Bay and Wharf. Though on a very bust street, noise was tolerable. Staff was incredible, especially Jeramiah at the front desk who went above and beyond to satisfy our room needs. "

"Overall a great place to stay. Location is great, property was clean, and good amenities (for our room with two queen beds: two tables with chairs, mini fridge, and safe). No microwave though, if that’s something you were looking for. Small flat screen tv with Direct TV, was a little difficult to figure out at first though. "

"Very nicely remodeled & refurbished old hotel. Great location on State Street - lots of restaurants, bars, and interesting shops. Walking distance to wharf & some historical sites. Hotel could use some sheer shades on windows. Only choice was "no shades/windows totally uncovered," or black out shades down & unable to see out."

"We loved our stay at the Upham! We had a great room in the Lincoln building! The room was so clean, and big! We even ate at the hotel restaurant - highly recommend! Close to all of the fun spots in Santa Barbara! Can’t wait to come back!! "
