“We stayed in a recently refurbished room and were very comfortable. Great view of the mountain. Shuttle from the Coastal Classic train to the hotel worked very well. We enjoyed a casual meal in aBar as well as a tasty brunch in the Tramline Cafe. My husband found the Nordic Spa to be excellent. The restaurant at the top of the tram had wonderful views but was pricey. Overall a very enjoyable stay.”
“An absolute delight. A perfect and peaceful haven with spectacular views, warm and friendly staff, great hot tub, treats and snacks, a community environment- many of the guests were repeat visits and I will definitely come back again as well!! Perfect!! ”
“Staff is super friendly. Hotel is being remodeled but very clean and you can't even tell. The rooms are comfortable, clean and very homey vs the very hotel set up at most places. Will definitely stay here on my next visit to the area.”
“Outside of town, nice to be away from all the hubbub but still close enough to resupply easily. Pack in and out essentially. Good kitchenette accomodations (plates, cookware, salt/pepper, coffee fixings). Great little place to get away.
2 small cons:
Payment was required much sooner than check in, which I didn't expect when booking through Expedia.
The propane tank we dead empty, so I had to refill in town. Even then, the grill barely warmed up to cook out shrimp.”

“The Highland Glen Lodge is a classic B&B in the sense, with a beautiful new facility. The hosts are warm and welcoming, the breakfast is excellent, and all-in-all it's the best spot in Anchorage that we know of.”
“Plenty of space in the unit we stayed in. The place is older but very clean and comfortable. Extra towels available for our group. Plenty of places for fishing nearby and their freezer space was convenient. Will be back in the future.”
“Wonderful place to stay! Our room was very large with a table/chairs, sitting area, wood burning stove, and king bed (which was very comfy). It also had a private balcony off the room! Front desk staff was great, the restaurant had delicious food and drink (it was nice eating on the back deck overlooking the mountains), and there was a nice walking trial down to the river. If guests didn't feel like walking back up the big hill they could call the front desk and have the hotel van come and get...
“This house was exactly as advertised. The master with the en suite was fabulous. Access to a washer and dryer was absolutely key.
Kitchen was fully stocked equipment wise with a ninja blender, toaster etc. (No air fryer - that would have been an extra bonus).
Minor issues:
- drawers sticking in fridge and freezer
- shampoo and conditioner provided was a great perk, I just wish it was slightly higher quality (dove or Pantene prov would be a step up).
