The Pavilion Hotel

"This hotel was beautiful and helped my family experience at relaxing stay at Catalina Island. One of my favorite things was the free wine glass during happy hour and the beautiful courtyard. The only reason why I am not rating this hotel a 5 start is due to a confusing uncomfortable experience my family and I had one of the team members (Stacey). During happy hour my child was with me and Stacey kept calling out my son and asking him to not touch the door, to sit down, to be careful, etc. My son was not touching anything or doing anything other than looking around/walking around because he is a kid. He is well behaved, he was just walking around therefore, I found her interaction with my son frustrating and decided to go back to my hotel room. Then the next day there was a huge event in the courtyard (hosted by people that booked a couple of rooms) . Kids were running, playing, and screaming around and Stacey was on her shift again, I sow her pass by, and I did not once hear her tell any of the children anything. I was a it confused about this given that she was on my child the previous day. My family and I are people of color and the family that hosted the event the next day were white. I couldn't help but feel discriminated. I would love to stay in this hotel again however, I would suggest for staff to correct their behavior and make sure to treat all of their guests exactly the same, regardless of the color of their skin."

"The place is old but kept clean. However the main carpet area is so dirty that my husband’s feet were black just running downstairs just to grab more towels. It’s definitely needs a deep clean. However the place is centrally located. Our room was clean, the a\c worked perfectly, the view was great and it was quiet. Ana the staff were all friendly. One issue was the wifi was spotty. It kept coming in and out and so did the tv."

"The stay was great, the staff was friendly, the only thing is that our room did not get cleaned during our stay, we had to ask for clean towels both days. Our do not disturb sign was NOT on so not sure why they didn’t come by and clean while we were out."
