“Staff were lovely but the property needs a lot of TLC. The bathroom is tiny but well equipped. Good location for st Michael's Mount but not much else nearby. Bonus was, they offered breakfast included but we weren't hungry enough for a full English breakfast 😟”

“The property is tired. Some of the staff worked hard. Some were obviously inexperienced. But the big problem was there were not enough capable staff. Long waiting times for food. Ordering systems that failed. Simple things like getting your own coffee at breakfast did not work. Altogether a lack of energy and commitment to getting things right was missing. No obvious management. Fabulous views, great weather. Frustrating hotel. We stayed one night. Could not imagine staying longer. What a lost...

“The breakfast was good, but let down by being a little cold. The room and hotel were very nice and well kept, but the restaurant area was incredibly cold, the windows in the conservatory area leaked air around the edges and the air con wasn’t running any heating when we were in there eating so hurried through and returned to room. ”

The hotel dog ran up to us barking as we were leaving, which was a bit alarming. The bedroom was simple and clean. Unfortunately the hotel has an awful smell, even in the bedrooms, like damp or mouldy carpets. A bee was in our room, luckily my husband was able to get it out. I appreciate it is an old historic building, but a deep clean and refresh of the carpets might help.”

“This is simply a lovely place to stay in Penzance. The owners are so kind and helpful, breakfast was excellent everyday, it’s close to everything, and the room was so comfortable. Stay here. It’s awesome.”

“The mattress let it down, thin and very soft. We live only an hour away, stayed so could enjoy a wine tasting without worrying about driving. We got up at 5.30am and went home to bed!! The pod was clean but basic, ok for one night. Staff friendly and helpful.”

“We stayed at several places and this was another good one, but, keep in mind that: 1. You need to prebook a parking space. it will be an extra charge ~ £9 2. Also, prebook the restaurant for dinner. They can't guarantee guests a table 3 they automatically at a 10% gratuity on dinner bills, it says optional on the check Recommend.”
