“We had two lovely rooms on the top (2nd)floor (be aware that there is no lift). One looked out to sea and the other had partial sea views but also had a small balcony with two chairs which would be lovely on a sunny day. Both rooms were very clean and there were two tub chairs from which to enjoy the views. Beds were extremely comfortable, probably the best hotel beds we have come across ( and that includes a well known hotel chain!). We appreciated the choice of teas (plus coffee, milk,...

“This accommodation is just perfect. The beach across the road and the town walking distance away. The breakfast is great, catering for all diets. The rooms are spotless and the staff are brilliant. I would recommend the Cumberland to all.”

“It's a rare joy to find a hotel with in room controlled aircon. I'd rebook just for that! The hotel is a grand old place and parking is a nightmare. But it's well situated with a sea walk just yards from your door and a surprisingly quiet location close to town.”

“This hotel is located in an amazing location with Poole Harbour to one side and the sea to the other, both accessible from the hotel. The staff are polite and professional. The housekeeping is impressive. Although the building is looking a little tired, the ambience, staff members and service make up for it. Breakfast is as expected with variety on offer to cater to most dietary requirements. The dining/eating area could be made a little more attractive as the layout seems rather formal....
