โWonderful hotel. Perfect location with plenty of parking. This is the perfect halfway point to Akureryi. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. There also is a restaurant upstairs with a nice view. This is also where breakfast is which had a nice variety throughout the buffet. Staff was friendly as well. Thanks!โ
โThis place is a gem! The pods are not huge but very cozy - more than what we needed. Finding the place was easy and staff was super nice. Parking is right next to your pod. You will need to bring your beddings or you can rent there for a fee. The little hiking trail right next to it and the wifi/common area was a nice plus, and the spa too! The restaurant offers an amazing view and their breakfast is very decent. A small problem we had was that the washrooms did run out of toilet papers...
โWe had a great night in the hotel. The room was clean and there was plenty of room with the three beds. The restaurant food was good for dinner and breakfast was tasty. The front desk had a map showing all the murals in town so we went for an evening walk checking them out. We highly recommend looking for the magnificent murals. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. โ
"I usually aim to leave balanced reviews, but our experience at this hotel was quite disappointing. We didnโt receive self check-in information until we contacted the property on the day of arrival, which caused unnecessary stress.
Once there, the front door passcode didnโt work โ not just for us, but for several other guests who were stuck outside in freezing weather during a Reykjavik snowstorm. It's advertised as self-check-in, but it should't be called "Self-Check-in" Hotel if the codes donโt function properly.
The room we were initially assigned also had no working heating, which was hard to accept in such extreme weather. When I called the help desk, I was told to wait until the next day. After informing them that I was traveling with an elderly, we offered a different room. Unfortunately, the heating in the second room failed the next day, and the help desk was unhelpful.
Lastly, the listing says there is free parking, which is true โ but spaces are extremely limited, so donโt count on availability.
Also, if you are not fluent in English, navigating issues here could be challenging and potentially frustrating, as communication might become an additional barrier.
On a positive note, I do want to acknowledge that the customer service team, when reached, was generally helpful and supportive. I truly appreciate that, but I would prefer not to be in a situation where I need to contact the team in the first place."
