“This was the best hotel experience I’ve had in Scotland. Staff were so welcoming and helpful, rooms and common areas so beautifully designed, and is walking distance to the downtown. A plus was the gorgeous garden to hang out and have a glass of wine. We’ll definitely be back.”

“Spotlessly clean rooms and public areas. Very friendly staff. Varied menu choice, reasonably priced. Slightly out of town/city centre, quiet area. Great parking. Would definitely stay here again.”

“Room was clean and comfy, however we arrived, keys didn’t work, I booked a twin room, but it was a double, told no twins were available,when in the first room, the window wouldn’t shut, so we were moved to a smaller room. Continental breakfast was terrible, consisted of ham, beef, cream cheese, initially no bread, but some was brought (sliced)and pastries came, when we were finished, coffee when it arrived was like tar. Staff were friendly and helpful”

“Staff were all so helpful and nice. Nothing was too much. The WiFi was not great the first night but has improved since. Food was good though perhaps needs to expand the menu a bit. They use local produce as much as possible which is excellent . Towels and bed linen were good quality and beds and pillows comfortable too. Would very definitely stay here again.”

“Rooms were very dated and cleanliness was not at a reasonable standard at all, bed linen was dirty, dust on every surface, walls mouldy and cracked and full of dust. Carpets were dirty with stains and covered in dog hair. Windowsills had dead bugs and dirt on them and beds were very uncomfortable (two single beds pushed together is not a double bed which is what we booked for both rooms) overall it was not a hotel we will be returning to.”

“Very dated corridors and stairs to room access, lots of small steps along corridors potential trip hazards. Stairs in the annex building were very awkward to negotiate. Poorly ventilated room with one window no A/C, no refrigerator…get what you pay for..”

“There was no signage for the car park as it was through a narrow gap behind the hotel. I was given the key to the room, which I was told was through a door to the right of reception. On going through the door I found I was outside in the poring rain with again no signage. I went back into the hotel and found a lovely lady who was cleaning, who I asked where room 225 was. She took me back outside and showed me my room was in the wooden single story building opposite, the entrances to these...
