“As a hiker on the Hadrians Wall trail, this venue had everything; good food, good beer and a good drying room. After a wet walk this was most welcome. This place was very convenient on the Wall trail and would highly recommend. ”

“The bed was soft, one size. Personel was only one men, very kind. There is only breakfast, no dinner..For one or two nights is oke. You can walk in the park or in Notterburn self.”

“I arrived just after 8pm and was personally and kindly welcomed to The Old School House. After a long day’s walk, I was offered a drink, which was much appreciated. My bags were taken to my room, and I was given a tour of the property.Breakfast was homely and delicious, and I enjoyed meeting some lovely fellow guests. The place was immaculate, and the hosts were absolutely charming.I would definitely stay again and it was just what I needed after a 30-mile walk! ”

“Delightful stay with incredibly friendly & willing staff,nothing was too much trouble. A mixture of old and new & my room(in the garden block) was spacious,modern & a lovely view from the patio over the cricket pitch & down to the Tyne. Food was very good,I ate in the bar but you can go more formal if you want. Hotel is in an enviable position,just outside Bellingham so access to roads easy. Even an indoor pool. If you like comfort,without formality,I would highly recommend.”
