"Big shout out to receptionist she was so helpful. Night staff on door could be more professional and polite when checking our names when we came back at 11.30pm."
The Bamburgh Castle Inn - The Inn Collection Group
10/10 Excellent
"As always, the room was maintained to a very high standard. The food was very good indeed.
The staff are always polite & helpful.
We will be back in the near future!"
"Lumley castle is in a beautiful area with an amazing history. The staff were very helpful, polite, attentive and cheery. Evening dining was excellent with a wide selection offered. Breakfast was also excellent with a good selection on offer. Drinks were expensive.
Unfortunately our room (Castle classic) described as a double was very small, with a lack of seating for 2 people (1 chair and a stool - no table). The bed was reasonably comfortable but there was little room at either side to negotiate getting in and out of it. There were plenty of plug sockets which was great but no USB connection points.
The television was very small and difficult to watch - the only place to watch it was from the bed.
There was a small step to enter the bathroom which was not easily identified and caused both of us to trip a couple of times. Surely this is a health & safety hazard. We thought that we had booked a walk-in shower (as per room info) but found it to be an over bath shower. The temperature of the shower was difficult to regulate, especially whilst in the shower. There also appeared to be a drainage problem as the water built up in the bath to above ankle level.
The room was reasonably clean but very tired looking. The entrance door and the bathroom door were both difficult to open and close as they dragged on the carpet.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, the castle being magnificent inside and out. Whilst we appreciate the castle's age the room we had would benefit from some TLC."
"We stayed at Langley Castle Wednesday and Thursday. The castle itself is stunning, towering stone walls, peaceful grounds and interiors that balance medieval character with modern comfort. The staff were exceptional throughout our visit, friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. Check in was smooth and the breakfast and the evening meal was very good. I booked the castle view room with the roof terrace, it was very quiet, apart from the visiting Peacocks and Peahens, and is accessed from the room via double glazed doors; there is also an air conditioner in the room which was a godsend! The bathroom unfortunately is very dated and needs some money spending on it to bring into the 21st century, (the shower was awesome though) some new furniture would be a good addition as well, unfortunately the room was very dusty and needed a good clean.
The grounds are peaceful and perfect for a quiet walk. The castle is full of history to explore or as we did have a relaxing escape. Overall we had a lovely stay and would happily return. Langley Castle is a unique peaceful and interesting venue."
